TCii collaborates on crucial “people issues” seminar – November 2014
TCii Managing Director Terry Irwin will be one of the three main speakers at an important event in London on Wednesday 19 November 2014. Entitled “Protecting and Growing Your Business”, this special session will get to the very heart of the people part of business. It will deal with the challenging and often sensitive situations that can quickly spiral out of control when not dealt with properly and, in the worst case scenario, can take an organisation all the way to an employment tribunal.
Having managers who are able to confidently and competently deal with such situations is a prerequisite for creating a high-performance culture.
This seminar will touch on the awkward, difficult and very often stressful day-to-day people issues that can arise in even the very best organisations, as well as how to go about getting your people strategy and legal protection right in the first place.
- why you need a people strategy
- how you can develop, implement and maintain a successful people strategy
- putting in place robust legal protection for you and your organisation
- dealing with disruptive behaviour
- tackling bullying and harassment
- managing conflict
- dealing with underperformance
- avoiding miscommunication.
When unchecked, the people issues mentioned above represent operational, financial and reputational risks to businesses. The harsh reality is that every business today, large or small, and however paternalistic, is exposed to the risk of people problems arising, festering, dragging down morale and adversely impacting the bottom line.
In addition, people issues can shatter confidence, especially where less experienced managers are concerned, with long-term consequences.
Clarity and certainty
The purpose of the 19 November seminar is to give clarity and certainty to delegates and their managers on how to plan for and handle the difficult conversations that sometimes just have to be had – calmly and correctly, regardless of the intensity of the situation.
Better still, delegates will hear top tips on preventing these painful problems arising in the first place.
Owner-managers, operations managers, senior executives and HR professionals will all gain valuable insights and knowledge from the session, and will take away ideas that they can immediately put into action.
Engaging and stimulating format
The event will be run as a presentation and interactive discussion, as experience has shown that this format is more engaging and stimulating than a “just sit and listen” seminar. Delegates will therefore have ample opportunity to participate and to have specific issues and questions dealt with.
Delegates who have received a personal invitation from one of the three main speakers can attend the event free of charge. If you have not received an invitation but would like to enquire about securing a complimentary place, please contact TCii. But please do so without delay: we predict that, because the subject matter is highly topical, the limited complimentary places available will be snapped up quickly.
If you do secure a complimentary place, additional delegates from your organisation can book a place for £49 + VAT. In all cases, the deadline for registration is Friday 14 November.
The venue for the event is 25 Southampton Buildings, London WC2A 1AL. The evening will begin with registration, welcome drinks and networking from 18:00, and the presentations will start at 18:30. The session, including Q&A and further networking, will end at around 20:30.
